The latest cast recruitment for SonyLIV’s upcoming series,’Freedom at Midnight’ is most certainly an ensemble of international stars. Starring an incredible group of British actors, and therefore lending a candid pan-global touch to an Indian epic tale, the television series which explores the untold story of India’s fight for independence.
In the lead role as Lady Edwina Mountbatten, is Cordelia Bugeja, who rocked the British TV screens with remarkable roles in Eastenders and Family Affairs. Together with her, Richard Teverson of the casts for The Crown and Downton Abbey films will act out the leading character of Cyril Radcliffe who had to come up with the line that separated India from Pakistan.
Luke McGibney, who was a part of ‘Mystery island’ and ‘Containment’ movies, has taken the role of Lord Louis Mountbatten, who was Indian Viceroy in the last position. Performing artists of various performances are going to be involved in the representation of the main Indian politicians by Sidhant Gupta as Jawaharlal Nehru, Chirag Vohra as Mahatma Gandhi, and Rajendra Chawla as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
