Alpha is the next major release from the YRF Spy Universe. Yash Raj Films is hoping for a strong box office comeback after the disappointing performance of War 2. The film has generated attention, but audience reactions remain mixed ahead of its release.

The teaser and trailer have created curiosity, but they have also attracted criticism on social media. As a result, the biggest talking point has become Alpha’s opening day box office collections and whether it can match the franchise’s previous releases.

The YRF Spy Universe officially took shape with Pathaan in 2023, although its journey began with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012. Ek Tha Tiger opened with around Rs. 32 crore, followed by Tiger Zinda Hai with Rs. 34 crore and War with Rs. 51 crore on the first day.

Pathaan later recorded an opening of around Rs. 55 crore, while Tiger 3 collected about Rs. 43 crore. According to the article’s figures, War 2 registered the lowest opening in the franchise with around Rs. 28 crore on its first day.

Many social media users believe Alpha may not achieve an opening comparable to earlier films in the franchise. They point to the crowded release calendar and changing audience preferences after films like Dhurandhar as key reasons behind their predictions.

Some online estimates suggest Alpha could earn up to Rs. 10 crore on its opening day. Others believe competition for screens with Welcome to the Jungle could limit its first-day collections to around Rs. 5 to 6 crore.

Several users have also criticised the marketing strategy of Yash Raj Films. They believe the original Christmas 2025 release window would have given the film a stronger chance to attract audiences and deliver a bigger opening.

With only a few days remaining before release, all eyes are on Alpha. The film’s opening day performance will determine whether the YRF Spy Universe can regain momentum or continue facing challenges at the box office.
