Mahavatar Parshuram: Director Too Scared to Start?

Vicky Kaushal in Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar

Amar Kaushik is having one of the most successful phases of his career as a filmmaker. After producing Thamma, which released this Diwali, he is now gearing up for two major projects that promise to strengthen his creative legacy.

Next year, Amar will bring Shakti Shalini to audiences, but his biggest work yet is already in motion Mahavatar, starring Vicky Kaushal. The film is being positioned as his magnum opus, blending myth, power, and emotion on a grand scale.

Mahavatar revolves around the story of Parshuram, a character deeply rooted in Indian mythology. Amar revealed that his inspiration came from childhood memories of his mother narrating tales of Parshuram. Speaking about the project, he said, “Mujhe toh soch ke hi dard lag raha hai,” expressing his nervous excitement after nearly seven months of preparation.

Vicky Kaushal, who is currently occupied with other commitments, will join the project full-time by mid-2026. Extensive work has already been completed on the script, character design, costumes, dialogues, and overall setting.

Backed by Maddock Films, Mahavatar is being developed with immense attention to detail. Following the success of Chhaava, expectations from Amar Kaushik and the team are sky-high.
