The first song from the highly awaited movie Cocktail 2 has finally dropped. The song is titled Jab Talak and it’s party number composed for youngsters.
The original Cocktail movie gave us memorable hits like Tumhi Ho Bandhu, and this sequel is trying to recreate that old vibe. The music video features the lead trio of Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna dancing on a beach wearing sexy outfits. Of all the cast members, Kriti Sanon shines the most with her appealing costumes and hairdo.
The music is composed by Pritam, who has created a very breezy and light tune. It feels perfect for the summer season. Arijit Singh and Akasa have provided the vocals for this duet. Arijit’s voice is smooth and relaxing, while Akasa adds a lot of fresh and youthful energy to the mix. The lyrics are by Amitabh Bhattacharya and they are very simple and catchy.
The chemistry between Shahid, Kriti, and Rashmika looks very natural and fun. The dance steps are energetic and perfect for a party vibe. The bright and colorful visuals make it feel like a perfect vacation song. All these elements together make the video look very attractive and high on energy. The choreography is decent, but could’ve been better.
However, some people feel that the song tries to copy the vibe of the first film, but fails to match that. Many people pointed out that Pritam has lost his touch as all his recent albums turned out to be duds. Even his Bhooth Bangla songs failed to emerge as hits.
