Sai Pallavi’s Hindi Debut: Beautiful but Still a Mistake?

Ek Din teaser Sai Pallavi Junaid Khan

Ek Din, starring Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan, recently surfaced on social media with its official teaser. Early reactions have been largely negative, driven by concerns beyond performances.

While Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi appear decent in the teaser, the controversy centres on the film being an official remake. Ek Din adapts the Thai film One Day, released in 2016, which has not gone down well with viewers.

Shot in Japan, the teaser features visually pleasing frames throughout. Many viewers also described it as a visually attractive Hindi debut for Sai Pallavi, appreciating the serene locations and overall presentation.

Despite hints of a decent storyline and sincere performances, audiences remain hesitant. After several recent remakes failed at theatres, viewers are clearly unwilling to embrace another familiar concept.

Users also pointed out that Aamir Khan Productions has already faced setbacks. They cited how Laal Singh Chadha and Loveyapa performed poorly at the box office.

The criticism is not directed at performances alone. Many feel Bollywood needs fresh ideas, and Ek Din appears to offer nothing new, even in its poster design, which viewers called repetitive.

Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, Ek Din is scheduled for release on May 1. Based on current reactions, many believe the film could add to Junaid Khan’s recent struggles at the box office.

Although the teaser offers a pleasant vibe and calm setting, drawing audiences to theatres may be difficult. At present, viewers seem firmly uninterested in watching another remake.
