Haiwaan Teaser Falls Flat: Akshay Back to 5 Cr Opening?

Haiwaan teaser featuring Akshay Kumar

After Bhooth Bangla, Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are collaborating once again in Haiwaan. Audiences were excited to see the teaser after the makers revealed the posters, showing the first look of the characters. Unfortunately, the teaser failed to impress.

The majority of social media users complained that the teaser entirely depended on showing the shadows of the lead characters instead of disclosing their faces. The teaser also maintained a lot of secrecy behind the main subject, which led to more criticism, along with the length of the glimpse.

As of now, the release date of September 11, 2026 is locked. But since the teaser could not generate sufficient buzz, it has now raised concern among trade experts. The current prediction has put the opening day numbers in the range of Rs. 5-6 crores or lower. Most of the trade experts stated that the movie now needs a strong trailer to create excitement.

Although Pritam is handling the music department, critics stated that it is not something that can contribute to the success of Haiwaan. This is because Haiwaan is an action-thriller and people will enter the theatres to see the clash between Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.

However, online users stated that Pritam’s music should not be ignored completely at the same time, since there is a possibility that something good might come out.

On the other hand, another thing that has left everyone worried is the remake factor. People are well aware of the fact that Haiwaan is a remake of Priyadarshan’s own Malayalam film, Oppam. But Akshay’s fans are confident that the film will work, and there are reasons for the same.

Akshay’s supporters stated that although the original was released more than ten years ago, Priyadarshan is going to make changes to suit the Hindi audience and the modern-day crowd. A few fans have still expressed concern by pointing out that the Hindi dubbed versions of Oppam are already available on YouTube, and this might work as a disadvantage for the film.

With only 25 days left for release, only time will tell if the makers are going to take the feedback to the teaser seriously and provide something better to create enough hype for the movie to take a big opening.
