A Malayalam film production house has filed a lawsuit targeting Hera Pheri 3, creating fresh trouble for Akshay Kumar and the makers. The franchise has already faced issues after Paresh Rawal’s exit. Now, even the use of the Hera Pheri name is under question.
Hera Pheri is an adaptation of the Malayalam film Ramji Rao Speaking. Reports state that rights were secured only for the first part. With Hera Pheri 3 back in discussion, the original makers approached the Madras High Court to raise objections.
A petition has been filed against producer Firoz Nadiadwala. It claims that Priyadarshan initially secured the rights, after which Phir Hera Pheri was made. The petition argues that moving ahead with part three violates the original agreement.
A legal notice has already been sent to Nadiadwala. However, there has been no official response from the producer so far. Further legal steps are reportedly pending, delaying clarity and adding to concerns for Akshay Kumar and fans of the franchise.
