It seems like the cast of Ramayana just got bigger. The latest that we know is that Vivek Oberoi has joined the film directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
Currently, it is considered one of India’s most expensive films, made with a budget of Rs. 835 crore.
Vivek is reportedly playing the role of Vidyutjihva, a demon prince from the Daitya clan (Shurpanakha’s husband).
If this is true, we are going to witness some versatile acting by multiple individuals, including the actor himself, who seems determined to shake off the “flop hero” tag that’s followed him since his early 2000s hits fizzled out.
Interestingly, this casting sets him up for a direct on-screen face-off with Yash, who plays the iconic role of Ravan.
Given Yash’s soaring popularity post-KGF, fans are already speculating whether Vivek can hold his ground in scenes shared with the Kannada superstar.
Vivek was last seen in the film Kaduva, where the audience lauded his performance as a cop. Later, he starred in the series Dharavi Bank alongside Suniel Shetty, which received mixed reviews.
Overall, Vivek has delivered some stellar performances over the years, though his film career has seen significant highs and lows.
With Ramayana, the stakes are high. not just for the film, but for Vivek’s comeback arc. Will his battle with Yash on-screen create real impact or be overshadowed by the superstar’s dominance? Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, a few curious ones are skeptical about how the cast of the film keeps growing.
While it’s true that Ramayana is going to be made in two parts, whether every actor will get enough screen space remains a big question.
