Bollywood is going through a very bad phase in terms of box office numbers. In between all these, Housefull 5 has raised the expectations of theatre owners and distributors. But the question right now is whether the film can include its name in the list of highest-grossing comedy films of all time.
Notably, the first in the list is Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with worldwide collections of Rs. 422 crores. This is followed by Golmaal Again and Housefull 4, with collections of Rs. 311 crores and Rs. 280 crores respectively.
Housefull 5 is also a part of a big comedy franchise. Considering its budget of Rs. 225 crores, the film has to touch the mark of somewhere between Rs. 500-600 crores to become the highest-grossing comedy film worldwide.
Although the advance booking numbers were not so good, seats are slowly filling up for the remaining shows on June 6, 2025, the day when the film is released. However, the next two days are important for the film, and everything depends on whether audiences are interested in watching it.
The overall response has been mixed until now, with a section of the audience accepting the film and the others rejecting it at the same time.
Sunday can be the biggest advantage for Housefull 5 as schools and offices would be closed on the day. Since there is no other competition and any other good films, people might prefer to watch Housefull 5.
However, Housefull 5 has a long way to go to gain recognition as the highest-grossing comedy film. It is possible only if the shows witness an occupancy of around 60-70% on the weekdays, and only time will tell if that happens.
