Why Priyanka Chopra Suddenly Branded Anti-National?

Priyanka Chopra Faces Antinational Claims

Priyanka Chopra has stirred disappointment among her desi fans, not over a film or fashion mishap, but for choosing a hot dog over the beloved vada pav.

During an interview at one of the premieres of Heads of State, Priyanka was asked to choose between this or that, food edition, and let’s just say her taste buds have developed a liking for American food.

While for Priyanka the questions seemed easy choices between her favorite food items, her answers seem to have upset the desi community abroad as well as back home in India.

One user was so upset over the fact that she didn’t choose many desi food items that he made a reaction video to the interview, criticizing Priyanka and disowning her on behalf of the brown community.

Priyanka funnily saw the video and reshared it on her Instagram story, saying she didn’t know there was a syllabus to being desi enough, and ended by saying it wasn’t even that serious.

While some social media users were having a meltdown over Priyanka’s response, her fans defended her choice, stating that she’s tried more exotic cuisines than the haters can imagine, and it’s only natural to like different things.

Amidst all this backlash, many users also connected this to Priyanka not having any affection left towards her home country, and titled her a “wannabe” trying hard to fit in Hollywood.

Many social media users were confused: does liking an enchilada threaten today’s nationalist values? This raised a lot of questions about why haters feel the need to push ‘deshbhakti’ in any possible situation.

While there’s no clear way to predict what celebrity statement might offend today’s audience, it’s important to just look at these things for what they are: entertainment.

Everything that these celebrities portray in screen is tailored to appeal to certain audience.

Whether Priyanka likes a vada pav or hot dog has nothing to do with her actual talent with which she is already representing our nation.
