Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 5 was released on 6 June and so far it has earned 24 crore rupees with its opening making it Akshay Kumar’s 4th highest grossing opener. While the film itself is part of a legacy of comedy films of Housefull franchise, it is also marketed as a murder mystery with alternate endings.

The makers went too far in their claims and called it the first Indian film with alternate endings ever. However, fans were quick to point out this falsehood as the 1998 Malayalam film Harikrishnans starring Juhi Chawla, Mammootty and Mohanlal was the first Indian film to do so.

It actually happened because of the immense fan following of both the male leads which resulted in a divide amongst the fans. Each side wanted their favourite hero to get the happy ending with the heroine and to stop disputes it was decided that there will be two endings with each hero getting their happy endings.

The claim of a unique ending of Housefull 5 has fallen short because fans realised that every aspect of the story is the same in Housefull 5 A and 5 B except for the end revelation of the villain. Yet, it is doing decently which is a great relief for Akshay and his fans who were having a cursed time at the box office.
