
Swara Bhasker is a notable actress who has spoken against the normalization of body shaming that exists in the entertainment world. In one of her interviews with BBC News India, Bhasker opened up about her many experiences.
She focused on the constant pressure women attempt to conform to when it comes to their bodies, especially during and after pregnancies.

Bhasker recalls the interview conducted with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan where she was asked the very sensitive question of ‘Why she didn’t lose weight after delivering the baby’. The grace with which she answered, “I was just living my life with my baby… my real life”, was particularly fascinating to Bhasker.
It showed, like many other women, that beauty in itself has much higher burdens set within the society.
