Dhurandhar Wave, Avatar 3 Release: Biggie Postponed

Ikkis film release postponed update

Sriram Raghavan is set to return to theatres with his next directorial, Ikkis, backed by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner. The project has already generated interest due to its team and positioning as a big screen release.

The film stars Agastya Nanda in the lead role. He is known for his debut in Archies on Netflix. Agastya belongs to the Bachchan family and is the grandchild of Amitabh Bachchan and the nephew of Abhishek Bachchan.

Agastya’s resemblance to Abhishek Bachchan has often been discussed. However, his acting ability is still being assessed, as Archies did not leave a strong cinematic impression. Ikkis is expected to test his potential in a more demanding space.

Working with Sriram Raghavan gives Agastya a solid platform. The film was initially planned for release in the second half of December. It has now been postponed to January 1.

The delay appears to be a strategic decision by Dinesh Vijan. Dhurandhar is currently dominating the box office, while Avatar: Fire and Ash is scheduled for release on December 19. Releasing during this crowded window posed clear risks.

Given Ikkis carries a patriotic theme, a clash with Dhurandhar could have affected its performance. A January release allows breathing space at the box office and positions the film better for audience attention in 2026.
