Imran Khan recently came into the headlines when he was detained during demonstrations organized in support of the Cockroach Janta Party’s protest a few days ago.
While the actor has not opened up in detail about his participation on any platform, it has led to a lot of debate for various reasons. Notably, Kirit Somaiya from the BJP is now seeking action against Imran after the protest, saying that he should be deported.
Kirit’s demand was in response to the fact that Imran is not an Indian citizen and is instead a US citizen. Kirit claimed the same thing while making his demand, saying that the Mumbai Police should also confirm Imran’s citizenship. He even asked whether someone from outside India is allowed to participate in such demonstrations.
For the unversed, Imran was taken into custody by the police after his appearance at the demonstrations in Mumbai on October 10, 2026. He had a smile on his face while being taken away by the cops, which led to a mixed response on social media.
While Kirit is seeking action against Imran, a lot of people were spotted supporting the demand, asking why a person who has stayed away from the limelight for a long time suddenly decided to come in front of the cameras. A few even questioned if Imran’s intentions were something else.
On the other hand, a particular section stated that Imran’s participation in the demonstrations and certain people asking the authorities to take action against him were unnecessary topics for discussion. They even stated that no one should bother about his participation since Imran has appeared and will appear in Hindi films, even if he is now a resident of the US.
Meanwhile, there have been no updates about Imran since he was taken away by the cops, and social media users believe that he is possibly in police custody right now. It remains to be seen if the authorities will take Kirit’s demands and their reasons seriously.
