Sunny Deol’s action film Jaat performed well at the box office, and the sequel now gets a major upgrade with a new director. Veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi is set to replace Gopichand Malineni, and he is reportedly charging around 15 crore for the project.
The producers expect strong results from Santoshi, who brings years of experience to the franchise. With Gopichand Malineni occupied with other work, Santoshi appears to be a fitting choice to take the story forward with a more ambitious vision.
Sunny Deol and the producers feel confident about bringing him on board. Their past collaborations, including Ghayal, Damini, Ghatak and the upcoming Lahore 1947, have already delivered memorable results.
This new partnership signals a large scale sequel with another powerful character for Sunny Deol. If everything moves smoothly, Jaat 2 is expected to begin production in the second half of 2026.
The final outcome will depend on how the action drama shapes up, and whether it continues the franchise with the same impact.
