Kartik Aaryan is set to work with director Shimit Amin on a new film titled Captain India. Kartik has been busy with multiple projects but reports suggest the two have been discussing this collaboration since 2024 when he pitched the idea to Shimit.
The production team has completed a recce in Morocco and parts of the film will also be shot in India. Inspired by a real-life story Captain India will feature Kartik as an Air Force pilot. Filming is expected between March and July with a planned 2027 release.
Kartik will appear in two films in 2026 including a romantic drama directed by Anurag Basu and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. He is also part of Nagzilla which is already creating headlines ahead of release.
This project is expected to benefit from Shimit’s track record with films like Chak De! India featuring Shah Rukh Khan. His last film Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year released in 2009. Fans are keen to see his return after more than a decade.
Shimit will have to ensure that the storyline and presentation match the tastes of today’s audience. The film must keep viewers engaged from start to finish without relying on old filmmaking styles. More updates are expected in the coming months.
