Actor Suriya has a message for students who spend too much time making reels, focus on your studies because real life does not come with a retake option.
Speaking at an event in Chennai, Suriya said that mistakes in films can be corrected by doing another take, but life is different. He urged students to work hard and not lose hope when they face difficulties in their studies. If things do not go as planned, he asked them to tell themselves “once more” and keep trying.
The event also saw 25 students who had completed Class 12 receive financial assistance to pursue college education through the Agaram Foundation. Support was also extended to artist Jeevanandan. The total assistance announced at the event reportedly amounted to ₹13.78 lakh.
The programme marked the 47th anniversary of actor Sivakumar’s educational initiative. Recalling how it started, Sivakumar said he had set aside his ₹25,000 remuneration from the 1979 film Rosappu Ravikkaikari to help disadvantaged students with the interest earned.
Since 2006, the Agaram Foundation has continued to support students from financially struggling families. Through his message, Suriya reminded students that hard work and education can take them further than chasing attention on social media.
