Sohum Shah’s Tumbbad 2 is another one of the most-awaited films. While a potential release date has not been announced, there is still some hype among the general public considering the popularity of the first film.
Meanwhile, a new update about the upcoming sequel is out now. The update says that Tumbbad 2 will be made on a budget of Rs. 100 crores with a big studio coming in to produce the film. The film is confirmed to go on floors sometime in 2025.

Apart from this, the film’s main storyline has been already finalized and it is currently in the pre-production phase. Furthermore, the big studio’s entry has specifically happened due to the demand emerging out of the first film’s success.
The sequel was teased at the end of Tumbbad. Considering that Sohum has hardly shared any updates about it so far, the latest reports are undoubtedly good news for those who are waiting to watch Tumbbad 2.

However, it seems like Sohum and the anonymous studio that has come in are possibly overconfident about the sequel. Notably, the response to the first film at the time of its initial release in 2018 was not too good despite that it managed to recover the budget.
No one will deny that the collections witnessed an increase in the film’s re-release. But this does not mean that the response will be similar to the sequel.

Sohum Shah is not a big star yet and the trailer and other promotional material have to be attractive enough so that people purchase tickets for Tumbbad 2. Meanwhile, how long the film takes in making is still a big question.
