After acclaimed films like Omkara, 7 Khoon Maaf, Haider, and Maqbool, fans are excited about Vishal Bhardwaj’s return to direction on the big screen.
So when it was announced that Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri would team up with him for a new film, expectations instantly rose.
Shahid Kapoor recently unveiled the film’s title through a social media post. The black-and-white poster shows his face partly covered by his hand and a hat, with Arijit Singh’s voice teasing the title track in the background.
The film is officially titled O’ Romeo.
Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film was earlier scheduled for a December release. However, it has now been pushed to Valentine’s Day 2026.
The shooting for O’ Romeo began in January this year. The movie marks Shahid Kapoor’s fourth collaboration with Vishal Bhardwaj after Kaminey, Haider, and Rangoon.
This is also the first time Shahid and Triptii will be seen together on screen.
Fans think this could be Shahid’s next big hit. His last blockbuster was Kabir Singh in 2019, following earlier successes like Shahid (2013) and Kaminey (2009). Many say he delivers a major hit every few years.
However, this time, the concern is more about Vishal Bhardwaj. Despite being a celebrated filmmaker known for his Shakespeare-inspired works, it’s been nearly a decade since his last memorable film.
His last major success was Talvar, and since then, he has been active mostly in OTT projects.
With O’ Romeo marking his return to cinema halls, fans are hoping he brings back the magic. Whether he still has the spark or not will be seen on Valentine’s Day 2026.
