Religious Fanatics Slam Ramayana: Yash Under Fire?

Ramayana Sparks Debate: Will Ravana be Glorified Due to Yash?

Ever since the first look of Ramayana was released, fans haven’t been able to stop forming opinions about how the film might turn out.

Many believe it will be a grand film with a lot to learn from, while others remain skeptical about how mythology is portrayed in films, especially after the backlash around Adipurush.

In particular, certain ‘sanskari’ religious extremists are concerned about whether the film will do justice to a mythology that many consider a historical fact.

They’ve been analyzing every little detail that comes out. Many of these religious hardliners pointed out that in one of Yash’s posts, who is playing Ravana in the film, he mentioned that Ravana’s character would be made “more human.”

This comment has angered a lot of extremists, who argue that Ravana was vile and vicious, despite others defending him as a devout worshipper of Lord Shiva who was simply seeking revenge for his sister, Surpanakha.

These critics worry that if this is the mindset of the filmmakers, then the portrayal of Ravana could be problematic.

In Yash’s post it was said that nothing is right or wrong, it’s mostly grey.

This idea, however, is something the extremists can’t seem to digest.

They believe the filmmakers might glorify Ravana and make him appear more powerful, rather than portraying him as the clear villain.

Others, however, have condemned such theories. They argue that even if Ravana was portrayed as vile and vicious in the epic, the film is unlikely to show him as a rapist or purely evil.

The reasoning is that Yash, being a major star outside the Ramayana universe, would likely play an anti-villain rather than a full-fledged negative role, as it could affect his stardom.

Additionally, his fans probably wouldn’t want to see him in such a dark role.

Even if the theories are true, the film must have a human touch, because that’s how it will be remembered. A brutal action sequence or savage murder isn’t what should stay in people’s minds. What should be remembered is the core message: that good always triumphs over evil.

While the debates, theories, and conspiracies continue, fueled by every tiny clue released about the film, the excitement to see whether justice has been done to the epic only grows with each passing day.
