Salman Khan has once again found himself at the centre of controversy, this time involving Pakistan. During his recent appearance at the Joy Forum 2025 in Riyadh, the actor spoke about international participation in Indian cinema. While mentioning Balochistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan separately, his comments reportedly offended Pakistani officials.
They interpreted Salman’s statement as implying that Balochistan is independent of Pakistan. In response, Pakistani authorities allegedly placed the actor under the “Fourth Schedule” of their Anti-Terrorism Act (1997), a category used to monitor individuals deemed a threat to the state.
The move has created outrage online. Many Indian users and Baloch activists praised Salman Khan for acknowledging Balochistan separately, calling it a rare show of awareness. They viewed his remark as a symbolic act of recognition for a region that often feels overlooked.
On the other hand, Pakistani officials condemned Salman’s comments, calling them an attack on the country’s territorial integrity. The debate has now taken a political turn, with contrasting reactions across borders.
Back home, Indian audiences are supporting Salman Khan and applauding his bold words. So far, the actor has not issued any formal statement regarding the situation, and it appears he is choosing to remain silent for now.
