Its barely been a week since the biopic Azhar was released and several people have already spoken out against their incorrect portrayal in the film. This include Sangeeta Bijlani, Manoj Prabhakar who has even threatened legal action and lastly Ravi Shastri who is both dismayed and upset with his representation in the film.

While the film does not use the full name of any of Azhar’s teammates, the use of first name makes it quite clear which cricketers are addressed. Ravi Shastri played by Gautam Gulati shows the character as an out-and-out womaniser. The film even has Ravi getting intimate with another woman in a hotel room while his wife is at the same hotel looking for him.
Ravi Shastri and his family as well were shocked by his portrayal in the film. However sources say that this is Azhar’s way of retaliating against the various things Shastri had said back when the sting operation had taken place.
