Shahid Underrated but Inflated Ego? Not Bachchan or SRK

Shahid Kapoor controversy debate

Fans are angry at Shahid Kapoor because they believe the actor sees himself as an A-list celebrity, walking among the Khans and the Bachchans. However, they feel that he is nowhere near their league.

These agitated fans were triggered after a statement by Shahid began circulating online about the audacity of his fans.

The upset fans have taken to social media to argue that Shahid has delivered only a couple of strong films in his career, while many of the others have been merely average.

They claim that only a few films, such as Padmaavat and Kabir Singh, turned out to be major hits in his recent releases, and even those, they argue, succeeded because of the supporting cast rather than solely because of him.

According to box office collections, Kabir Singh, Padmaavat, Vivah, and Jab We Met are the only superhit films he has delivered in his 23-year career, while the rest were either flops or performed moderately.

While some fans have been expressing their anger, others have come to Shahid’s defence, stating that his remarks were taken out of context from an interview.

They argue that nobody can be a Bachchan or an SRK, but that Shahid Kapoor’s statement has been misconstrued due to alleged malicious PR tactics by his contemporaries.

In fact, they point out that Shahid was responding to a question about whether trolling affects him. According to them, his comment was directed at trolls spreading negativity on social media, and not at the audience of his films.

Shahid’s supporters believe it is unfair that some people have attempted to present his words out of context simply to malign him.

PR machinery often works this way, they say, conveniently cropping out parts that can generate quick fame and headlines in order to damage an actor’s image.

Regardless of whether one likes or dislikes Shahid’s acting abilities, it is important to verify and double-check facts.
