Shraddha Kapoor is set to headline Laxman Utekar’s upcoming period drama, tentatively titled ITA. This marks her first historical project, produced by Dinesh Vijan. The film will follow Utekar’s Chhaava and continue his journey of showcasing Maharashtra’s rich cultural legacy.
As per Pinkvilla’s Himesh Makand, Shraddha has signed on for this female-led saga. She is expected to play a key historical figure from Maharashtra, embracing traditions and folklore at a national scale. The film aims to blend history with culture in an immersive way.
Shraddha has begun preparing for the role by training in classical dance and singing. She has attended several workshops to master performance art forms required for the character. While plot details are under wraps, reports suggest it may be adapted from a celebrated period novel.
The film will also feature actors from both Hindi and Marathi cinema. Fans are excited after Shraddha’s recent success with Stree 2, which earned over ₹500 crore. With Utekar and Vijan reuniting, expectations are high for another cultural blockbuster.
The period drama is scheduled to go on floors in November 2025 and is expected to hit theatres by late 2026. With its grand scale and historical depth, this project has already raised curiosity among Bollywood and Maharashtrian audiences.
