Aamir Khan is back on screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, and the trailer is decent if not extraordinary.
Some may feel Aamir is overdoing it as the loud, politically incorrect coach Gulshan, but this is intentional and suits the character’s arc—a far cry from his sensitive role in Taare Zameen Par.

He himself has joked about his own self, calling himself “tingu,” adding a self-aware, funny touch to the trailer.
The differently abled kids in the film are the USP and might be a treat to watch, as many of them are debuting and are natural in their roles. Genelia is lovely, and the dialogues are fun and touching.

Despite being an official remake of Champions, Sitaare Zameen Par feels fresh, mainly because of the Indian context and Aamir’s ability to bring emotional depth to mainstream cinema.
However, the trailer lacks a strong emotional quotient and goosebumps moments.

The tagline “Sabka Apna Apna Normal” is all about inclusivity and will surely work with a wide audience.
Remakes are always met with skepticism, but this trailer is more appealing than Aamir’s last outing, Laal Singh Chaddha, and industry estimates are predicting a Rs. 12–15 crore opening day and a long run if the word of mouth is good.
Aamir’s track record of delivering meaningful and entertaining films—Taare Zameen Par or 3 Idiots—sets high expectations.
We have to see if Sitaare Zameen Par can turn out to be another landmark film blending comedy, emotion, and social relevance, or if it will remain just an average one-time watch.
Whether it will match his past classics remains to be seen, but the trailer is cute, heartwarming, and wholesome.
