Big Sequel: Teaser Fails, All Eyes on Trailer Now

The official teaser of Son of Sardaar 2 was out and all it could receive was some lukewarm response.

The reason? Too much UKfication of the film for rebate purposes. Well, most people didn’t buy it, stating that part 1 was much better than the upcoming drama.

For a masala entertainer, this underwhelming response is concerning.

Now that the teaser couldn’t do much, the only thing that can save the makers is the official trailer which will be launched officially on July 11. Despite the little negativity, anticipation is still building, although consciously.

While industry insiders have already started raising questions about the film’s overall execution, a little hope still awaits.

Yes, all eyes are on the trailer now, which everyone feels should not be cringe and include unforced comedy. A little more action moments are also expected from it, given that the earlier installment had ones.
If the trailer also fails to impress the audience, Son of Sardaar 2 may struggle to cross even Rs. 20 crore net on Day 1. That would be a poor showing for a franchise of this scale.

Comparisons are inevitable. Ajay Devgn’s latest release Raid 2 crossed Rs. 160 crore and emerged a decent success. Now, expectations are that Son of Sardaar 2 will need to rake in at least Rs. 200 crore to justify its budget and branding.

Hence, we can say that the film’s upcoming trailer will be the ultimate make-or-break moment. Energy, punchlines, and mass appeal is the task, so it’s up to the film’s cast and makers to make up for it!
