Big Relief for SRK, Deepika: Trouble Not Over Yet?

SRK Deepika Hyundai FIR case

SRK and Deepika Padukone have been relieved in an FIR related to a Hyundai car endorsement case. The issue highlights how celebrity endorsements can heavily influence consumer trust and raise ethical concerns when the endorsed product fails in quality.

Celebrities often endorse brands to boost their income and image. But many do not think about the wider impact on society. Products like tobacco, alcohol, and betting apps endorsed by stars have long been criticised for causing harm.

Even with products such as cars, cosmetics, and food, the problem remains. Consumers tend to trust big celebrities, but when quality issues arise, the responsibility becomes unclear. This situation was seen with SRK and Deepika in the Hyundai case.

The complainant, Kriti Singh, said he purchased the car because of his trust in the endorsement by SRK and Deepika. Later, he faced harm due to defects caused by manufacturing problems and filed a complaint against the actors.

Their lawyers defended them, stating that they only promoted the brand’s value and not the technical quality of the vehicle. They also noted that the complainant had used the car for three years, driving more than 67,000 kilometres.

For now, SRK and Deepika have been relieved from the FIR until the next hearing. While they are free legally, the case raises larger ethical questions about relying on celebrity promotions to make purchase decisions.
