Thamma is finally set to hit theatres in a few days, and ticket sales have already opened across all platforms. The response has surprised many, as audiences are showing strong interest in advance bookings.
BookMyShow COO Ashish Saxena shared his happiness over the excitement among viewers. He said the response is particularly strong in metros and tier-2 cities. Trade analysts also believe Thamma could turn out to be a festive season winner.
Bookings opened on Friday, October 17. According to reports, PVRInox and Cinepolis sold around 20,000 tickets by Saturday evening. That’s a solid start, and numbers are expected to climb further.
The positive trend suggests the horror-comedy might join the list of this year’s successful films. But its real test lies in the story and execution.
Meanwhile, a few trade experts on social media have raised doubts about the numbers. They claim Maddock Films may have used self-bookings to create buzz. Some even say the same approach was used for Stree 2, Chhaava, and Sky Force.
Despite these claims, it appears Dinesh Vijan is going organic this time. If the bookings were manipulated, most first-day shows would already be full.
With its fresh vampire theme and added glamour compared to earlier films, all eyes are now on Thamma. You’ll soon know if it delivers good news for theatre owners and distributors.
