As Vicky Kaushal shines being Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, he was once chosen to play the role of Aurangzeb in Karan Johar’s period drama Takht. He was announced to portray alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.

Karan Johar wanted to showcase the story of the Mughals and how they took over the Indian territory. Interestingly, Vicky Kaushal played the opposite of Aurangzeb and tried to showcase pride and excellence of a Maratha warrior in Chhaava recently.

It is worth noting that Takht might have worked showcasing Vicky Kaushal in a dark and negative side, but Chhaava displayed him as a larger than life character, which is being loved by millions.




Karan Johar had to shelve Takht due to the given circumstances surrounding the Mughals in the country, as no one wants to know the backstory of the Mughal Empire and are more interested in knowing about legendary Maratha warriors.
