King Akkineni Nagarjuna and Tabu are reuniting for King 100, Nagarjuna’s 100th film. Nearly three decades after sharing screen space, the two actors are coming together for a different kind of story. While their earlier on-screen association was rooted in romance, the upcoming film has a war backdrop.
On the occasion of Tabu’s birthday, the makers unveiled a special glimpse introducing her as Mahanthi Jhansi Rani. The introduction establishes her character through dialogues and visuals. Her opening dialogue draws a distinction between people who depend on luck and those who believe in hard work. With the statement, “Luck? I hate luck,” she expresses her character’s outlook and attitude.
Towards the end, Tabu appears before a large public gathering, waves to the crowd and takes the oath. The sequence introduces her character’s political presence and position.
Tabu’s performance is a key aspect of the introduction. Her composed expressions and body language convey the authority of Mahanthi Jhansi Rani. The character is expected to play an important role in the film.
Directed by Ra Karthik, King 100 marks his Telugu directorial debut and is being produced by Annapurna Studios. The film’s first glimpse was unveiled on Nagarjuna’s birthday. Tabu’s character introduction offers another look at the project.
Raja Mahadhevan handles the cinematography, while Devi Sri Prasad composes the background score. King 100 is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, coinciding with Christmas.
