Maddock’s MHCU, created by Dinesh Vijan, began with Stree (2018) and expanded with Roohi and Bhediya. The films mix Indian folklore with humour and social themes, making the universe one of Bollywood’s most successful experiments.
This Diwali, Thamma starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna is set to hit theatres. Upcoming titles like Shakti Shalini and Chamunda are expected in 2026, showing how fast the franchise is growing.
Wamiqa’s connection with Maddock runs deep. She recently starred in Bhool Chuk Maaf with Rajkummar Rao, the original MHCU lead, which fuels speculation about her next move with the banner.
