Too Much, Too Fast? Maddock Faces Major Test

Maddock Films Arabian Night Trilogy

Maddock Films, one of India’s leading production houses, recently announced that they’ve been working for 2 years to launch the grand cinematic universe inspired by the famous tales of The Arabian Nights.

The project will be a trilogy including some of the most timeless legends from the classic collection, promising the Indian audiences a world full of fresh fantasies.

The trilogy will be structured across three standalone films, namely, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, Aladdin’s Wonderful Lamp, and Sinbad the Sailor.

Maddock will reportedly begin with production on Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves before the end of 2025. The series will also involve cutting-edge visual effects and rich original soundtracks, marking this venture a major leap into the fantasy land for a studio primarily known for its comedies and dramas.

According to industry insiders, producer Dinesh Vijan is aiming not just for a visual spectacle but also wants to reimagine these timeless tales through an Indian cultural lens.

Fans across social media are debating whether Maddock is spreading its feet too fast and prioritizing quantity over quality.

Many have also expressed concerns about how these films will measure up against the high-profile project that was previously mastered by Disney.

Disney’s cartoon as well as the live-action version of Aladdin are etched into everyone’s memory; many feel that it will be difficult for a rising production house like Maddock to redo a project that holds so much nostalgic value.

As of now Maddock hasn’t released any names, neither of the cast nor of the people who will be working on the ambitious project.

As new developments are revealed, the film will likely gain more attention and become an international spectacle due to the stories’ popularity.
