Yash in Ramayana: Just 15 Min or Ranbir’s Dirty PR?

Yash Ravana Screen Time in Ramayana

The buzz around Yash’s Ravana in Ramayana: Part One has taken a turn.

Initially it was reported that Yash would be in the film for 15 minutes and his role would be a cameo.

But now it’s being said that Yash will have over an hour of screen time in Part One. So his role is much more central and layered.

Just yesterday it was said Yash has only 15 minutes of screen time as Ravana.

Now it’s said he plays a major part in Part One.

This change raises an eyebrow was the earlier news a publicity stunt by Ranbir Kapoor to keep the focus on Rama?

Director Nitesh Tiwari is building a slow burn for Ravana, introducing his backstory in Part One and setting up for a bigger presence in Part Two.

This approach means a more grounded and structured retelling of the epic.

Yash reportedly turned down several big films after KGF: Chapter 2 to do this role, so he’s clearly looking to do meaningful, culturally relevant cinema.

His Ravana isn’t just an antagonist, he’s being treated as a complex character whose motivations and journey matter to the story.

This is a trend in Indian cinema where it’s no longer about screen time but about how much a character impacts the narrative.

So we can expect a more layered and impactful Ravana from the very beginning.
