The shocking death of renowned singer Zubeen Garg has taken a new turn. Initially believed to be a tragic mishap, it is now confirmed to be a murder case under active investigation by the Assam Police.
Zubeen Garg, aged 52, passed away in Singapore on September 19, while attending the North East India Festival as the cultural brand ambassador. His sudden death had left the entire entertainment industry and fans across India in disbelief.
However, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has now declared that Zubeen’s death was not an accident. “I will not refer to Zubeen Garg’s death as a mishap today. We need to submit the chargesheet in Zubeen Garg’s murder before December 17,” said the Chief Minister.
The Assam Police SIT, formed under the CID, is investigating the case under sections of culpable homicide and criminal conspiracy. Murder charges have also been officially added to the case.
So far, five suspects have been arrested, including two of Zubeen Garg’s personal security officers. Sources say that the killing was a well-planned act, and investigators are close to unravelling the motive behind it.
Chief Minister Sarma reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring justice, stating that Zubeen’s death was not a coincidence and that he would go to any length to punish those responsible.
The SIT is expected to submit its detailed report soon, with December 8 set as the deadline for filing the chargesheet.
Fans of the late singer have been left heartbroken by the revelations but are expressing hope that justice will be served swiftly. Social media continues to flood with emotional tributes and calls for the harshest punishment for the culprits.
