Husband’s Outrageous Rs.10 Lakhs Demand For Honeymoon

It is reported that an agreement of Rs 5 lakh was made between the families, and the newlyweds embarked on their honeymoon in Nainital. However, even during their time in Nainital, the husband is accused of avoiding any physical intimacy with his wife. Furthermore, the wife claims that explicit photos were taken without her consent during their stay, leading to subsequent blackmail and further demands for dowry.

Distressed by the situation, the wife courageously filed a case against her mother-in-law and husband at the Pilibhit Kotwali police station, seeking justice for the mistreatment she endured. The bride asserts that her husband and mother-in-law have subjected her to verbal abuse and relentless dowry demands. The victim recounts her marriage, which took place on February 6, 2023, to a young man from the Bisauli area, falling under the jurisdiction of the Badayu Police Station. The bride’s family had contributed a sum of Rs 20 lakh, including jewelry worth Rs 15 lakh, according to their financial capacity.

Troubles began to surface when the husband declined to engage in the expected honeymoon activities and showed no interest in physical relations even after three months of marriage. Distressed by this situation, the wife confided in her mother-in-law on March 29, but her concerns were disregarded. Eventually, she sought solace at her parental home in Pilibhit and narrated the ordeal to her mother. On April 22, when her husband arrived to bring her back, her mother-in-law dismissively suggested that if there was any ailment afflicting the daughter-in-law, they would provide treatment. To the shock of the bride, her husband demanded an additional 10 lakh rupees as a condition for going on their long-delayed honeymoon.

Under pressure and desperate to salvage the relationship, the family paid an additional Rs 5 lakh, enabling the couple to finally embark on their honeymoon to Nainital on May 7. The wife states that they shared the same room during the trip, but she soon discovered that her husband had captured explicit photos and videos without her consent. He subsequently demanded the remaining 5 lakh rupees and threatened to release the compromising material if his demands were not met. Overwhelmed, the wife sought refuge with her family, disclosing the entire situation. As a result, she lodged a formal complaint against her mother-in-law and husband at the local police station, prompting an ongoing investigation into the matter.
