“Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.”
“DUNE Part Two” is the most ambitious project of Denis Villeneuve until this date. The film was the most anticipated movie of this year, grossed $600M worldwide.
After the release of Dune part one. The Dune fandom waited eagerly for the release of this new movie. Which in my opinion was worth waiting for.
Based on two feuding houses Atreides and Harkannon, Dune revolves around our main character Paul Atreides, who is the last heir of house Atreides. In this journey of Arrakis Paul is going to find his real identity and face the dreaded fear he always avoided.
The movie is based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel “Dune” which is followed by five more books in the series.
The cinematography, the narrative system made the movie a unique one. Denis’s own interpretation while keeping Herbert’s motive intact was a great take, taken by him.
The cinematographer of this movie, Greig Fraser said , “This is his finest work till this date”, and with Hans Zimmer’s surprisingly subversive score the audience was left speechless.
The cast of the movie is a chef’s kiss Timothee Chalamet as Paul, Austin Butler as Feyd Rautha Harkannon, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan and Zendaya as Chani. All of them proved themselves worthy for their own roles.
Rumours have it that Denis is working on the screenplay of the 3rd part of Dune, based on the second book in the franchise “Dune Messiah”.
Who knows we might have the rise of the desert planet once again.
