Kung Fu Panda 4: New Box Office Benchmark Set

Kung Fu Panda 4

Kung Fu Panda 4, has achieved a significant milestone at the domestic box office. The film, which centres on Po (Jack Black), debuted with a box office haul of $57.9 million, making it the second-best franchise launch by a wide margin.

With a 3-day domestic total of $14.5 million, the movie is expected to close its third weekend in theatres and surpass the $130 million mark in its cumulative domestic total.

Only this 2024 release after the phenomenally successful science fiction blockbuster Dune: Part Two has surpassed that standard. In comparison to the rest of the franchise, the sequel is doing well; it is only 14 days behind the original film’s $130 million gross.

Expected for release in 2024, Kung Fu Panda 4 might potentially outperform its predecessor at the global box office. The panda has already amassed a substantial fortune; its earnings abroad have more than twice that of its native market.

The 2024 film might not even cross the $600 million mark, but it has the potential to be one of the decade’s biggest animated successes. In 2023, there were just two animated films that made over $600 million, compared to one in 2022.

If Kung Fu Panda 4 achieved that milestone, it would already be among the top four animated films of the decade. Though its future is promising, it is yet to be seen how high it may rise.
