Odyssey>Oppenheimer? Nolan Set for Another India BO Storm

The Odyssey India advance booking update

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is all set to arrive at the big screen on July 17, 2026. The response in India has been phenomenal, and it is believed that the movie could take a bigger opening than Oppenheimer this time.

As per the latest reports, the pre-sale numbers have been around Rs. 15 crores, and the opening day figures are supposed to touch around Rs. 5.75 crores. The situation is almost the same as Oppenheimer’s numbers, and it is expected to witness a bigger jump in some way.

The national multiplex chains have specifically contributed a lot, along with the IMAX screens. Nolan’s film has been made for IMAX, and although the screen count for the format is very low in India, the prices of the tickets are expected to bring some big numbers.

The film has sold 48,000 tickets at PVRINOX, which is a little lower than Oppenheimer, which sold 92,000 tickets. It is believed that the high ticket prices are one of the reasons behind the figures. The pace is still on the same level as Oppenheimer, and early estimates are saying that it might start at Rs. 20 crores.

The early reactions to the film are expected to contribute to bringing more audiences. However, a particular section reacted on social media by saying that the ticket prices should have been a little lower and more affordable since it is impossible to take an entire family with the same amount.

Critics have clarified for now that The Odyssey has no future at the single screens and it will attract crowds only at the multiplexes. But the biggest question that remains right now is whether it can break the records of Oppenheimer, which ended its theatrical run with Rs. 155 crores in India.
