Shah Rukh Khan scored the first and the only 1000-crore grosser with Pathaan in January this year. Since then, none of the films could even cross Rs. 500 crores mark. Adipurush was considered one of the best bets, but it failed miserably.
As we are fast approaching the end of August, only three films are remaining that have a chance to be the next 1000-crore grosser this year.
Shah Rukh Khan is coming once again with Jawan. The film’s hype is excellent, which is reflecting in the advance bookings opened in counties like the US, Germany, the Middle East, and the UK. If word-of-mouth is good, and if Tamil and Telugu versions support the film, the film will definitely go somewhere near the 1000-crore mark.
If Prashanth Neel has delivered what he promised, Prabhas’ Salaar is a sure-shot 1000-crore film. If the movie does justice to Prabhas’ aura and personality, which were lacking in his last few films, then nothing can stop Salaar at the box office.
The last one is Lokesh Kangaraj’s Leo. Lokesh has created a brand for himself with films like Kaithi, Vikram, and even Master. He is teaming up with Vijay once again for an intense action drama Leo.
The film has generated good hype among the Tamil audience, but the Telugu states haven’t still come on board. The reception from the North audience is also doubtful. But Vijay fans are vouching that Leo will click in a big way and is a worthy contender to join the list of 1000-crore-grossing films.
It will be interesting to see which film will hit the bull’s eye or will there be a surprise winner by the end of the year.
