AK47 Postponed: Naga Vamsi’s Deadline Drama Backfires

Aadarsha Kutumbam AK 47 postponed

Venkatesh-Trivikram’s Aadarsha Kutumbam AK 47 will miss its October 9 release. Producer Naga Vamsi confirmed the indefinite postponement at a press meet. The new release date remains uncertain.

Naga Vamsi said the team was racing against time to complete the final copy. Releasing the film on October 9 would leave little time for the trailer launch and promotions. The makers have decided to take more time rather than compromise on the final product.

However, his comments on Tollywood’s lack of planning and discipline have raised eyebrows. Naga Vamsi criticized the industry for failing to meet release deadlines, but the fact is that he started this worst trend of makers not honoring announced release dates. He even admitted a few days ago that 90% of his films do not release on their announced dates. Given this track record, his criticism of the industry sounds a bit hypocritical and irresponsible.

He also cited the fear of social media trolling as a factor behind the postponement. Fans hit back, questioning how a producer who cannot meet his own deadlines could blame social media for the backlash.

Naga Vamsi was also asked whether he postponed Aadarsha Kutumbam to make way for Jailer 2, whose Telugu rights he reportedly acquired. He appeared frustrated by the question and responded, “Is any film more important to me than Trivikram’s? Do you think I would do that?”

The producer admitted that the team feared trolling from the media and netizens but insisted that the film needed more time. He also apologized to other filmmakers whose release schedules were affected by the confusion surrounding AK 47.

When asked about October 30 as a possible release date, he offered no clarity. He said the team would decide after Venkatesh returns to India and discuss the matter with them.

The postponement has triggered severe backlash against Trivikram and Naga Vamsi. Venkatesh’s fans are furious, with some using abusive language against the makers on social media. They feel the team has taken the senior star’s trust for granted by repeatedly missing its commitments.

The biggest question is why post-production remains incomplete when October 9 was presented as the final release date.

The planned October 6 trailer launch and October 7 advance bookings had suggested that everything was on track. However, rumors of problems behind the scenes had already surfaced.

Adding to the trouble, the recently released Narayanamma song created zero impact and failed to generate even minimal buzz.

Now, the makers face a bigger challenge than finding a new release date. They must rebuild audience interest in a film that has repeatedly failed to meet its own deadlines.
