M9 News journalist Nishant recently sat down with producer Abhishek Agarwal ahead of the release of his upcoming film The Bengal Files, hitting theatres on 5th September.
When asked about ongoing allegations of making propaganda films favouring the BJP, Abhishek responded firmly. “I work only for Hinduism. My community and my country are my priorities. I want to reveal hidden truths and forgotten heroes to this generation. I have no other agenda,” he stated.
On being questioned about possible political ambitions, particularly a Rajya Sabha berth, Abhishek said, “I have no expectations. But if the party gives me anything, I will accept it as a responsibility.”
He also addressed the film’s runtime of 3 hours and 24 minutes and explained the reasoning behind its striking caption: “If Kashmir hurt you, Bengal will haunt you.”
Given the trailer’s tone, questions were raised about whether Mahatma Gandhi would be shown in a negative light and whether the film intends to stir communal sentiments ahead of next year’s Bengal elections. Abhishek chose to leave this for viewers to interpret after watching the film.
During the conversation, he also opened up about The India House and his collaboration with Ram Charan, giving insights into their shared vision and partnership.
