Akhil Akkineni is probably the only star kid who got a tough star to his career in Tollywood. He has a few decent films like Hello, and Most Eligible Bachelor but none of them could keep him on the big stage, as was expected by Akkineni fans.
There was this big attempt in the form of Agent, which had a lot of hopes associated with it. But this was a failed experiment as it was rightly rejected by the audience.

In this context, the latest developments are suggesting that Akhil is on the verge of setting up another interesting film. There are unverified social media reports that Akhil might be working with Director Puri Jagannath for his upcoming film.
This might look like a very risky proposition on paper, considering the disaster form of Puri Jagannath in recent years.

But another point that is to be noted, here is that Puri is one director who can redesign the career of an actor like he had done in the past. If at all Akhil decides to take a huge risk by deciding to work with Puri, then it could go either way.
Primarily Puri is a very raw and dynamic director. The way in which he presents, his heroes is unlike any other. If he gets the commercial meter bank on point, there is no better commercial Director than Puri, even to this date.

However, at the same time, Puri is very lethargic and lousy with his work more often than not. This is the reason why he is extremely inconsistent with his body of work.
Coming back to the proposal of the Akkineni Hero working with this dynamic director, it comes with its own set of risk as both the Hero and Director are in desperate need of success. This desperation could further destabilise the very core of this project.
While the upside is that Puri could redesign Akhil’s image, there’s the inconsistency to factor in. This needs to be rectified somehow to mitigate the risk factor for this project but this task is much easier said than done.
