When an actor gets to essay an author-backed role in a remake which became a super hit in the original, he is bound to either get inspired or copy from the look and the mannerisms of the other hero. Naga Chaitanya admits the fact that he watched the original several times and hence he copied Nivin Pauly’s method of the portrayal of the matured stage of the character.
He says that he played the teenage portions like himself rather than copying Nivin. Though Chai took cues from Nivin’s acting for matured portions, they reworked the script to suit to the sensibilities of Telugu nativity and audiences. But they retained 80% of the music of the original as the music created magic for the original film.
