The Akkineni family has been going through a low phase for the past few years. Right from Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, to Akhil Akkineni, all have been delivering flops and disasters for quite some time now.
If Nagarjuna had Officer, Manmadhudu 2, Wild Dog, and The Ghost, Naga Chaitanya delivered Thank You and Custody. And then came Akhil Akkineni’s baap of all disasters, Agent.
Now the ‘extra-cautious’ Akkinenis have almost finalized their next films, and their announcements can come any time.
Naga Chaitanya is doing a period love story with a lot of twists and turns for Geetha Arts (GA2), where he plays a boatman. Keerthy Suresh is in talks to play the heroine. The makers are looking for a good date to announce the film.
Akhil Akkineni has also finalized his next which is going to be produced by UV Creations to be directed by a debutante. The tentative title of the film is ‘Dheera.’ The action entertainer is going to be made on a huge budget, despite the disastrous fate of Agent. An official announcement can come any time from now.
Nagarjuna is also gearing up for his next. The one that was finalized was shelved at the last minute due to some technical issues with the director. More details about his next are unknown, but there is something definitely cooking. An official announcement might be made soon.
So the Akkinenis will surely be looking at making a strong comeback with a vengeance and satisfy the thirst of their fans who have been waiting to see a hit film from them for a long time.
