There was once a time when Lokesh Kanagaraj was one of the most hyped directors in South Indian cinema, and virtually every top star wanted to work with him. But things changed after the failure of Coolie.
Lokesh was able to convince Allu Arjun with a story idea, and this project was officially announced as AA 23. It was expected that this project would be executed on a massive scale, and Allu Arjun looked very excited about the same.
Now the latest updates are suggesting that this project has been put on indefinite hold and there are multiple social media rumours that it has even been shelved.
If at all Allu Arjun decided to shelve this project in the first place, then it could prove to be extremely consequential for Lokesh as a director. He would certainly be devastated by the same.
Lokesh would have principally dodged many Tamil heroes before working with Allu Arjun and would have hoped of making the biggest project in his area. He would have had great hopes about working with one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema.
But if Allu Arjun has actually scrapped this project for whatever reason, then Lokesh will have a tough time going back to Tamil cinema and convincing many people all over again. This is not going to be a pleasurable experience for him.
For the time being, this might just be a social media speculation but at the end of the day, we must keep in mind that there will be no smoke without fire. So if this project gets actually cancelled, then things could go south quickly for Lokesh as he searches for alternatives.
