Allu Arjun generated huge popularity and following across Indian cinema with his recent film Pushpa 2. This film reached such remote pockets of Hindi Cinema that it would have otherwise been a distant dream for Telugu Cinema.
But the discussion now is about the upcoming film of Allu Arjun, which happens to be with Atlee. This project has been in the making for a long time now with very little promotional material released.
The point of difference here is that there is very little anticipation going on for this film at least in the generic social media circles. This is not what we would be expecting from Allu Arjun after delivering iconic Pushpa.
Allu Arjun’s birthday is coming up in a couple of days, April 8, and there is a possibility that some sort of a promotional material could be released on this day. If that is the case, then this could be considered a golden opportunity for the film to generate much needed traction.
As of now, there is very little momentum oozing into this film, perhaps due to the lack of director combination factor as Atlee is not a native name in Telugu market. And as a result, all the lifting will have to be done by Allu Arjun himself at a large capacity.
Even now, Allu Arjun is the only selling factor for this film, and that needs to change rather quickly. Atlee needs to set things straight by coming up with a winning video material that displays his vision and this is what’s needed now.
The addition of Deepika Padukone and possibly Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur will obviously help the cause later. For now, if at all any material is coming out on April 8 on the occasion of Arjun’s birthday, it needs to be absolutely out of this world to clear dead air and create a sense of anticipation.
