We are yet to complete the first month of January in 2021, and we have the biggest surprise of the year already. Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa team has announced its release date.
Pushpa, the upcoming film of Allu Arjun will hit cinemas in 2021 itself. Its release date is locked on August 13th, 2021. It is an entirely unexpected development. Many expected Pushpa to be a Sankranthi 2022 release considering the slow making process of director Sukumar.
If Pusha indeed manages to arrive on August 13th, it is an excellent decision and a huge gamble from Allu Arjun’s side. The release date has multiple repercussion and impact.
First thing, it means Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata won’t be hitting cinemas in August as the fans are expecting. It is left with only one slot in September. If the makers don’t consider it, the Mahesh Babu starrer has to move to Sankranthi 2022 and clash with Salaar. If they arrive, there will be a clash with PSPKRana movie.
Secondly, it arrives before RRR after Vakeel Saab and Acharya. If there is positivity from those films, it will have a great impact on Pushpa’s openings in addition to the fact that it comes after Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. One could witness record openings for Stylish Star, something that he has lacked so far.
And last but not least, imagine, Pushpa being the highest grosser of the year from Mega family and also outside RRR. Back to back highest grosses for Allu Arjun would elevate his position as a star to the next level.
Considering all these, the release date announcement is a masterstroke from Stylish Star Allu Arjun despite no festival. It is also a checkmate to many other stars.
The only problem here is if Sukumar could keep up the pace and deliver the final product to his satisfaction on time. We all know what happened in the past when he was forced similarly to meet deadlines for two Sankranthi films.
