Despite not-so-excellent skills as a director or writer, Atlee is among the most successful directors with a 100 percent track record of success. His latest film, Jawan, has turned out to be a huge hit and is close to grossing 1000 crores worldwide at the box office by the end of September.
During his recent interview, Atlee said that he is in touch with Allu Arjun, and they have a subject in mind. Though nothing is confirmed, he said he is in talks with Allu Arjun for a film.
The general perception among the Telugu audience is that Atlee is a very basic director with average storytelling techniques. Films like Jawan don’t sound too exciting for our audience because they have seen such films more than two decades ago. Jawan did well only because of the audience’s hunger to see him in the massiest role of his career.
Our audience feels that Atlee isn’t as talented as Lokesh Kangaraj in terms of direction or storytelling, which is unique and novel. Yes, Atlee’s films connect in a better way for the low-brow North Indian audience in B and C centers, but he lacks the class of Kanagaraj.
So, Allu Arjun must think twice before accepting Atlee’s film. Though he might get better reach in the Hindi belts, his core audience in the Telugu states might feel disappointed by his film with Atlee.
