The Malayalam film Bethlehem Kudumba Unit starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles and directed by Girish A D was released in theatres on August 21st and has received super positive responses from audiences and critics alike.
Ever since its announcement, the film has carried high expectations because Mamitha Baiju and director Girish A D reunited for this film after the massive success of Premalu and also because Nivin Pauly’s previous film, Sarvam Maya, was a massive hit.
Consequently, backed by super positive responses from both audiences and critics, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is now going on a rampage at the box and the film has collected more than 60 crores worldwide in just three days of its theatrical run.
In this scenario, following the massive success of the original version, the makers of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit have officially announced through a special release poster that the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions of the film will hit screens on September 4th.
Meanwhile, strong speculation is going viral on social media that a major production house had initially stalled the Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’s Telugu dubbed version release because they were planning to remake it in Telugu.
However, after watching the film, they reportedly felt its content and sensibilities would not connect well with Telugu audiences and eventually dropped the remake plans. Subsequently, the Telugu dubbed version of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is now gearing up for a theatrical release on September 4th.
In response to this update, many users on social media are suggesting that if the makers had released the dubbed versions alongside the original on the same date, the film’s collections would have doubled by now and they claim that the makers wasted a potential opportunity.
They note that because of the massive success of Premalu and since almost the same cast and crew of Premalu returned for this film alongside Nivin Pauly, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit already enjoyed a decent pre-release buzz among other-language audiences.
Also, they feel that nowadays, after the positive word of mouth, many people are ready to watch a film with subtitles regardless of the language. Hence, they suggest that by the time the dubbed versions are released, many other language viewers will have already watched the original version.
Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit will become a successful venture similar to the original version upon their release on September 4th.
