Bhagyashri Borse was expected to be the next big thing in Tollywood. When she was first revealed in Ravi Teja’s Mr. Bachchan promos, it looked like Tollywood had finally found a beautiful, charming, sexy, and skilled heroine. But her journey so far has been quite unexpectedly shocking. Even after getting good opportunities early on, she is still waiting for her first proper hit.
She made her debut opposite Ravi Teja in Mr. Bachchan, but the film was a huge flop at the box office. That itself was a big setback at the start of her career. After that, things did not improve much. She got chances with big names like Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Ram Pothineni, but none of those films, Kingdom, Kaantha, Andhra King Taluka turned into successful ventures. With four flops in a row, the pressure on her has clearly increased.
Now, all her hopes are on Lenin, where she is acting opposite Akhil Akkineni. Initially, Sreeleela was the heroine, but she was replaced with Bhagyashri for reasons unknown. Lenin has now become very important for her career. In simple terms, it is a make-or-break situation.
Even without hits, Bhagyashri has managed to stay in the limelight. Her glamour, screen presence, and dancing skills have helped her gain attention, especially among mass audiences. But in the film industry, attention alone is not enough. At the end of the day, only box office success matters.
Lenin, directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, is a rural mass action film. Her role is said to be important in the story, not just a side character. If the chemistry between Akhil and Bhagyashri turns out to be sizzling, it could work in the film’s favor.
The film is being produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Annapurna Studios and Sithara Entertainments, and it is being made on a big budget. It is set to release in theatres on June 26 as of now, but it all depends on when Peddi releases.
However, a big film and big names do not guarantee success anymore. Audience tastes have changed, and they are rejecting films quickly if the content does not connect. Also, Akhil himself has been struggling to deliver a solid hit since his debut, so that adds another layer of risk for Bhagyashri.
If Lenin works, Bhagyashri can finally settle in the industry and move forward with confidence. But if it fails, things could get even more difficult, as the industry usually does not wait long when results are not coming.
She has got the chances, she has got the visibility, but now she needs results. Everything depends on how Lenin performs at the box office.
